Maureen Denise McCormick, the only daughter of Richard McCormick, and Irene McCormick, was born in Woodland Hills California on 5 August 1956. Her father taught at school, and her mom was a housewife. She has three older brothers: Michael Dennis and Kevin. McCormick has always loved singing, dancing and creating performances with puppets. She was crowned her first contest, the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley Contest when she was just 6 years old and was contacted by Pat Domigan, a talent agent of the Jack Wormser Agency. He requested that she be interested to be a part of the business of show production. McCormick got her first job as a leading actress in the year 1964. She was featured in an ad campaign for Mattels the newest doll baby Pattaburp. She did another commercial in 1964, for Mattels Chatty Cathy toy and soon was chosen to play the lead role in Wind It up and It is Broken, a show at La Jolla Playhouse. The Brady Bunch McCormick auditioned for the part of the eldest daughter of the three towheaded girls on The Brady Bunch. The show was a collaboration between Florence Henderson, Robert Reed and a blended family. This show lasted for five years. McCormick revealed her story in Heres the Story. Surviving Marcia Brady, and Finding My True Voice (published in 2008) that McCormick nearly lost her Virginity with Barry Williams during the five-year duration of the show. In the moment, she was just 16 years old and he was 19. It was a time that would have not had worked out for us, she told me.
